Christmas Lesson

   This week marked the final Funglish class of the second semester. This semester provided a valuable opportunity to experience not only English but also different cultures through various international events. Enjoy the winter vacation and see you in the third term! Merry Christmas!

   今週で２学期最後のFunglishとなりました。今学期は、海外のさまざまなイベントを通して、子供たちが英語だけでなく異文化にもふれる貴重な時間となりました。３学期も、楽しいFunglishが待っています！メリークリスマス！

GTEC

     Even if they were a little bit nervous, the sixth graders of Kuroiwa bravely took upon the GTEC. Their facial expressions and emotions were a mix of everything but they managed to finish the test while doing their best. You got this everyone! Your hard work will surely pay off.

　６年生は、英語の４技能を測るテスト「GTEC」にチャレンジしました。これまでの６年間、ファングリッシュで積み重ねてきた力を発揮！毎年、このテストは子供たちの大きな励みになっています！

Story Time

　Autumn is the perfect season for reading! Today, the English teachers read a traditional Japanese folktale in English. Students recognized some of the words, and everyone enjoyed the story!

　英語の先生たちが、日本の昔話を英語で読んでくれました！知っている単語がところどころ出てきて、「あ、この言葉分かる！」とうれしくなる場面も。英語で聞く昔話は、いつもと少し違った雰囲気で、とても新鮮でした！

It's a SPOOKY October!

　　The time to scare kids has come again! Each grade level had a spooky and fun experience during the Halloween FUNglish lesson. Aside from learning Halloween-related vocabulary, they enjoyed running from the witch, grouping themselves according to how many ghosts they saw, and winning stickers through Halloween Bingo. The "Awoooo" good job clap was a hit too! How about you? Did you have a spooky, fun Halloween party?

Learning with Kocho-sensei

　Fifth graders enthusiastically shared with our principal what they were learning in their English lesson. The activities ranged from giving directions while navigating the FUNglish mock-up town to guessing prices of products that can be bought on Amazon, all while practicing their learned English vocabulary for each unit. The students enjoyed it and were thrilled to see that our principal was leading by example through learning English with them.
