The lower elementary school students watched a fun movie today about a golden goose. They bought tickets and snacks, learned about movie etiquette, and left good movie reviews.

お昼休みの英語活動として、Kザニアが今年もスタートしました！5月のテーマは映画館です。英語でチケットやポップコーン買い、「黄金のガチョウ」の英語版をみんなで鑑賞しました。その後、映画のコメントをボードに書いたり、感想をALTの先生のインタビューで答えました。みんなで映画をみるのは楽しいですね！

How's the weather in Hawaii? ハワイの天気は？

The 3rd grade students are seen enjoying a game called the ‘Weather Umbrella’ while learning about countries and weather. It’s almost summer in Japan but it is rainy these days. Please don’t forget your umbrellas!

3年生は、国や都市がどんな天気か、を表現する英語を学習しました。傘をつかって｢お天気ゲーム｣をしながら楽しく勉強しました。最近は不安定な天気が多いので、みなさんも傘をお忘れなく！

My birthday is ~.私の誕生日

The 5th graders had a great time playing "Pass the Bomb''. They also enjoyed singing and dancing the Month song.
５年生は自分の誕生日を言えるように特訓中です。爆弾ゲームで楽しくドキドキしながら英文を練習しました。また、12ヶ月の英語の歌も、みんなでダンスをしながら楽しんでいます。

Daily Routine １日の予定を言おう

The 6th graders had fun playing the game "Secret Life" as they guessed the teachers' daily routine. They were able to practice their speaking and writing skills at the same time.
６年生は２つめの単元に入りました。今回は、自分のスケジュールを言えるようになるのが目標です。まずは１日の予定を言えるように練習中です。楽しいゲームを通してスピーキングとライティングを行いました。

Introducing myrself 英語で自己紹介

They were stood confidently, spoke loudly, and pronounced clearly. What a great way to apply what they learned the entire unit.

５年生は英語の発表にむけ、みんなで助け合い、たくさん練習をしました。最後には、全員が自信をもって立ち、大きな声で話し、はっきりと発音できていました。とても素晴らしかったです。

From a timid student to a confident one, that is how our 5th grade student from Kuroiwa ES showed her impressive progress not only in the Funglish class but also in the Funglish broadcasting.

今年も、毎週水・木曜日の給食の時間に英語の放送が始まりました。

今回は、英語の放送を通して成長した子ども達のお話を紹介します。英語に少し苦手意識がある子ども達はどこの小学校にもいます。その子たちは、英語の授業でもおとなしめで、発表の際もあまり積極的になれず、小さな声で恥ずかしがりながら発表することが多いです。しかし、黒岩小の子ども達は、この給食の時間に毎週流れる英語放送をきっかけに、目覚ましい成長をとげました。

Her teachers' trust and support to her during the broadcasting made a great impact on her positive attitude towards the English language. Since then, she has been showing great love for the language as she uses it not only in the Funglish class but even outside of it to her friends, classmates, and teachers. As a matter of fact, she is now taking the initiative in guiding her broadcasting member/s during the Funglish broadcasting.

英語の先生方はとても、熱心にお昼の英語放送をサポートし、子ども達の可能性を信じていました。そして、次第に子ども達も英語に対する姿勢が前向きになり、英語の先生達と一緒に英語放送をとてもがんばって練習しました。

それ以来、授業中だけでなく、授業外でも友達やクラスメイト、先生達に対して、英語を頻繁に、自分から進んで使うようになり、今では英語を使うことを楽しんでくれています。さらに、子ども達同士で英語放送の仕方や英文を率先して教え合ってくれています。

Truly, when students are showered with trust and motivation, their abilities and passion become limitless!

本当に、子ども達は信頼とやる気のシャワーを浴びたとき、子ども達の能力と情熱は無限に広がるのだと思いました！

Do you know how people greet each other in Hawaii? 

ハワイでは、どんなふうにあいさつをするか知っていますか？

 Yesterday, the fourth grade students from Kuroiwa elementary schools learned how to say, “Hello” in different languages like Indonesian, Hawaiian, Russian, and Australian. 

４年生はインドネシア、ハワイ、ロシア、オーストラリアなど、様々な国のあいさつを学びました。

 After practicing, they played fun games of Spy x Family and searched for Anya where the students competed against their teachers and won. 

そして、子供チームと先生チームにわかれ、楽しいゲームを通して、習ったあいさつを練習しました。

 Finally, the students enjoyed building a tower while practicing the phrases they learned in the lesson. How about you? Can you greet other people in foreign languages?

カップでタワーをつくるゲームでは、習ったあいさつを言い、カップがくずれないようドキドキしながら積み上げました。さて、あなたは他の国の言葉であいさつできますか？

Have you ever tried meeting someone whose name is difficult to remember and write?

みなさんは、初めて会った人の名前を覚えたり、その人の名前を書いたりするのは得意ですか？

Seen on these pictures are students from the 5th grade of Kuroiwa elementary school practicing introducing their names and spelling them out. Afterwards, they played a fun game called Train Janken which made everyone enthusiastic (and tired, too!).

５年生は自分の名前のつづりを英語で言えるように練習しました。その後、習った言い方を使って、先生が言った名前のスペルがだれかを当てるリスニングゲームや、電車じゃんけんゲームをして英文を言う練習を行いました。みんなとても熱中していました！

Now, meeting new friends and remembering their names is made a lot easier!

これで外国の方々に英語で自分の名前を伝えることができますね！

The new school year has just begun and we are welcomed by new teachers, Penn sensei and Okada sensei along with Rhona sensei and Rie sensei.

今年度、新たに岡田学先生とALTのペン先生も加わり、英語のレッスンがスタートしました。

Our classes began with exciting games where the students did not only learn English but had fun as well. Most importantly, our Japanese English Teacher (JTE), helped the students realize why studying English is important. With that, everyone felt motivated and excited to learn more.

新しい英語の先生方の自己紹介と、先生クイズを楽しみました。ただ英語を学ぶだけでなく、なぜ学ぶのかをみんなで一緒に話し合い、英語学習の大切さを再確認しました。

Let us have a great year ahead!

今回のテーマは「道案内」

黒岩小学校から自分のおすすめの場所までの道順をスライドを使って紹介してもらいました。

実は私とＡＬＴは富岡市出身ではないので、富岡市のことがあまり詳しくありません…。そこで、５年生のみなさんにお願いして、ぜひいってほしいおススメの場所を教えてもらうことにしました。

さらに、場所を聞いただけでは分からないので道順も…。

少し難しめの単元でしたが、５年生のみなさんは最後まであきらめずに積極的に学習することができました。
