４月２５日（木） 今年度も、「ぐみの会」の皆様が、月３回程度読み聞かせに来てくださいます。本日は、第１回目！どの学年も真剣に聞き入る様子が見られました。次回が楽しみですね。

４月２３日（火） 今年度初めての体育集会！体操の隊形にひらく練習で、６年生がお手本になりました。１年生もよくがんばっていました。

From a timid student to a confident one, that is how our 5th grade student from Kuroiwa ES showed her impressive progress not only in the Funglish class but also in the Funglish broadcasting. 今年も、毎週水・木曜日の給食の時間に英語の放送が始まりました。 今回は、英語の放送を通して成長した子ども達のお話を紹介します。英語に少し苦手意識がある子ども達はどこの小学校にもいます。その子たちは、英語の授業でもおとなしめで、発表の際もあまり積極的になれず、小さな声で恥ずかしがりながら発表することが多いです。しかし、黒岩小の子ども達は、この給食の時間に毎週流れる英語放送をきっかけに、目覚ましい成長をとげました。   Her teachers' trust and support to her during the broadcasting made a great impact on her positive attitude towards the English language. Since then, she has been showing great love for the language as she uses it not only in the Funglish class but even outside of it to her friends, classmates, and teachers. As a matter of fact, she is now taking the initiative in guiding her broadcast...

Do you know how people greet each other in Hawaii?  ハワイでは、どんなふうにあいさつをするか知っていますか？    Yesterday, the fourth grade students from Kuroiwa elementary schools learned how to say, “Hello” in different languages like Indonesian, Hawaiian, Russian, and Australian.  ４年生はインドネシア、ハワイ、ロシア、オーストラリアなど、様々な国のあいさつを学びました。    After practicing, they played fun games of Spy x Family and searched for Anya where the students competed against their teachers and won.  そして、子供チームと先生チームにわかれ、楽しいゲームを通して、習ったあいさつを練習しました。    Finally, the students enjoyed building a tower while practicing the phrases they learned in the lesson. How about you? Can you greet other people in foreign languages? カップでタワーをつくるゲームでは、習ったあいさつを言い、カップがくずれないようドキドキしながら積み上げました。さて、あなたは他の国の言葉であいさつできますか？

入学式から約一週間。２～６年生のお兄さんお姉さんの前で、大きな声で自己紹介ができました。校歌も早く覚えて、一緒に元気に歌えるといいですね。

Have you ever tried meeting someone whose name is difficult to remember and write? みなさんは、初めて会った人の名前を覚えたり、その人の名前を書いたりするのは得意ですか？ Seen on these pictures are students from the 5th grade of Kuroiwa elementary school practicing introducing their names and spelling them out. Afterwards, they played a fun game called Train Janken which made everyone enthusiastic (and tired, too!). ５年生は自分の名前のつづりを英語で言えるように練習しました。その後、習った言い方を使って、先生が言った名前のスペルがだれかを当てるリスニングゲームや、電車じゃんけんゲームをして英文を言う練習を行いました。みんなとても熱中していました！ Now, meeting new friends and remembering their names is made a lot easier! これで外国の方々に英語で自分の名前を伝えることができますね！
