Do you know how people greet each other in Hawaii? 

ハワイでは、どんなふうにあいさつをするか知っていますか？

 Yesterday, the fourth grade students from Kuroiwa elementary schools learned how to say, “Hello” in different languages like Indonesian, Hawaiian, Russian, and Australian. 

４年生はインドネシア、ハワイ、ロシア、オーストラリアなど、様々な国のあいさつを学びました。

 After practicing, they played fun games of Spy x Family and searched for Anya where the students competed against their teachers and won. 

そして、子供チームと先生チームにわかれ、楽しいゲームを通して、習ったあいさつを練習しました。

 Finally, the students enjoyed building a tower while practicing the phrases they learned in the lesson. How about you? Can you greet other people in foreign languages?

カップでタワーをつくるゲームでは、習ったあいさつを言い、カップがくずれないようドキドキしながら積み上げました。さて、あなたは他の国の言葉であいさつできますか？

Have you ever tried meeting someone whose name is difficult to remember and write?

みなさんは、初めて会った人の名前を覚えたり、その人の名前を書いたりするのは得意ですか？

Seen on these pictures are students from the 5th grade of Kuroiwa elementary school practicing introducing their names and spelling them out. Afterwards, they played a fun game called Train Janken which made everyone enthusiastic (and tired, too!).

５年生は自分の名前のつづりを英語で言えるように練習しました。その後、習った言い方を使って、先生が言った名前のスペルがだれかを当てるリスニングゲームや、電車じゃんけんゲームをして英文を言う練習を行いました。みんなとても熱中していました！

Now, meeting new friends and remembering their names is made a lot easier!

これで外国の方々に英語で自分の名前を伝えることができますね！

The new school year has just begun and we are welcomed by new teachers, Penn sensei and Okada sensei along with Rhona sensei and Rie sensei.

今年度、新たに岡田学先生とALTのペン先生も加わり、英語のレッスンがスタートしました。

Our classes began with exciting games where the students did not only learn English but had fun as well. Most importantly, our Japanese English Teacher (JTE), helped the students realize why studying English is important. With that, everyone felt motivated and excited to learn more.

新しい英語の先生方の自己紹介と、先生クイズを楽しみました。ただ英語を学ぶだけでなく、なぜ学ぶのかをみんなで一緒に話し合い、英語学習の大切さを再確認しました。
