1st term

And just like that, the first term for this year has ended.
We would like to thank everyone, especially the school staff, parents, and our brilliant students who were with us this semester. We hope to see you again after the break. Stay tuned as we continue our English adventure! See you!

あっという間に、1学期のファングリッシュの授業が終了となります。
先生方、学校スタッフ、保護者の皆様、そしてすばらしい黒岩小の子供たち、本当にありがとうございました。夏休み明けにまたお会いできることを楽しみにしています。これからも楽しい英語の学習を続けていきますので、どうぞご期待ください！夏休み明けまでSee you！

airport

Even with a cloudy/rainy weather, a lot of Kuroiwa kids still enjoyed coming to the Airport Kzania. Some volunteered to become immigration officers and most were passengers. They got their passport stamped by the immigration officers and they were able to visit UK and Australia. They saw many things in each country- things they can see, eat, and do. It was fun!

7月のKザニア（お昼休みの英語活動）のテーマは「空港」です！たくさんの子どもたちが黒岩小空港で働いてくれました！スタッフ役になった子たちは、パスポートにスタンプを押したり、チケットを確認したり、行きたい国はどこか、英語で質問したりしていました。旅行者役の子たちは、いろいろな国々をたくさん旅して、その国で何が食べられるか、お土産に何が買えるか、様々なことを学ぶことができていました！

Welcome Party

At last! Our new ALT has come. After two weeks of waiting, we finally welcome the newest member of the Funglish team: May sensei from the Philippines! Our students had a special Welcome Party lesson for May sensei where we played a lot of exciting games while reviewing vocabulary and getting to know more about each other. It was wonderful! Let's have fun learning English together with May sensei!

フィリピンから、新しいALTのメイ先生がいらっしゃいました ! 新しい先生と会うのをずっと楽しみにしていた子供たちは、優しい笑顔のメイ先生に、授業で習った英語で質問をしたり、外国のゲームを一緒にしたりして、ウェルカムパーティーを楽しみました！

Restaurant

Have you ever been to a fancy and expensive restaurant?

Our Kzania event today was made extra special when our School Principal dined as one of our guests. He was greeted by our volunteer staff who learned how to take orders and the customers who enjoyed our delicious food, fancy music, and great customer service. Everyone had a great time!

今週のKザニアでは、高級レストランをテーマに、たくさんのシェフとお客さん達でファングリッシュルームが賑わいました。レストランの注文の仕方や、注文の受け方を楽しみながら学ぶことができました。校長先生もお客さんとして参加し、子供たちもとても喜んでました。

Street Foods

Summer is fun with festivals around! The students tried different street foods today from countries such as Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand. They also enjoyed carnival games. There was a long line of children waiting to have fun and learn English this week. Well done, everyone!

お昼休みに、英語の先生たちと楽しむ活動「Kザニア」では、今月は世界の食文化をテーマにしています。先週はALTの出身国であるフィリピンの「ジョリビー」というファーストフード店ごっこをし、今週は世界の屋台を体験しました！初めて見る屋台の食べ物に興味津々な子供たち、日本の屋台の食べものをALTの先生に説明してくれる子もいました！来週は、オシャレなレストランをひらく予定です！お楽しみに

みんな大好き、ロナ先生

Today was bitter sweet as we bid goodbye to our dear ALT, Rona sensei, who was with us for over three years. The Kuroiwa elementary school students gave their presents and letters as they had their last class. We are sure that Rona sensei left a lasting memory to the children as they had given her wonderful things to remember as well. Until we meet again!

本校で約３年半、一緒に英語を勉強したALTのロナ先生が、母国フィリピンへ帰国することになりました。子供たちは、たくさんのプレゼントや感謝の気持ちを、最後までロナ先生に一生懸命伝えていました。ロナ先生、たくさんの素敵な思い出、楽しい英語の授業をありがとうございました！

I'm Happy!!

Today, the second graders learned how to express their feelings by saying, "How are you?"- "I'm happy!" We also played a fun target game and the students tried their best to take down cups with emotions on them. Finally, they showed creativity in making colorful Emotions Flipbook.

２年生が 「How are you?」 「I'm happy!」と、自分の気持ちの表現を学びました。気持ちの絵が描かれたコップを使って、わなげゲームをしたり、カラフルなパラパラ漫画を作ったりして、楽しく練習しました！

Let's count 0 - 20

Can you count to 20 in English? Our third graders can! We sang songs while counting and played an exciting game called Bamboo Shoots today. Students who say the same number at the same time and the last person standing lose the game. It's a game of instinct!

３年生は新しい単元に入り、０から２０までの数字を英語でいえるように練習中です！英語の数え方の歌で盛り上がりました！また、数を使ったゲームで、タケノコニョッキッキの英語バージョン、バンブーシュートゲームをしました。自分がタケノコになり、順番に数を言ってタケノコが生えるようにジャンプします。他の人と同時に言ってしまったり、最後になってしまうとアウトになってしまうというドキドキハラハラが楽しいゲームです。とても楽しくて、たくさん笑いながら学べました！

Hello! Funglish

Welcome to Funglish, 1st graders! This was my first English class at the elementary school! With sparkling smiles, they were full of energy from the beginning to the end of the class and were able to speak a lot of English. We practiced pronunciation through fun activities. At the end, each student was able to announce her name, favorite color, and favorite animal in a loud voice!

１年生のみなさん、ファングリッシュへようこそ!!１年生にとって小学校での初めての英語の授業が行われました！
キラキラ笑顔で、授業の最初から最後まで元気いっぱい！たくさん英語を話せましたね。英語の先生たちの好きなもの当てクイズ、動物になりきるジェスチャーゲーム、英語版のだるまさんが転んだ、など楽しいアクティビティーを通して発音練習をしました。最後には一人一人が大きな声で、自分の名前と好きな色や動物を発表することができました！

The lower elementary school students watched a fun movie today about a golden goose. They bought tickets and snacks, learned about movie etiquette, and left good movie reviews.

お昼休みの英語活動として、Kザニアが今年もスタートしました！5月のテーマは映画館です。英語でチケットやポップコーン買い、「黄金のガチョウ」の英語版をみんなで鑑賞しました。その後、映画のコメントをボードに書いたり、感想をALTの先生のインタビューで答えました。みんなで映画をみるのは楽しいですね！
